Family Programmes
We see an ongoing need to increase our level of support within the local community and we want to ensure that we work with local families who need our help most. We know how important it is for families to be active outdoors for good physical and mental health. At our unique and magical setting at the Arundel Castle Cricket Ground we are providing a range of fun and inclusive activities and experiences to provide families with a safe place in which to get active outdoors and enjoy valuable family time in a beautiful countryside setting.
2020-21 Programmes
Lockdown Programmes
We responded to the Covid-19 pandemic by providing programmes and activities that engaged and supported local young people and their families during the Coronavirus crisis. Whilst we were unable to deliver our typical range of programmes, we knew our ground could be put to invaluable use to help get local young people outdoors and back playing sport during the pandemic. Play Zones offered free, fun and inclusive outdoor activities especially created for families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We launched Target Zones in response to government and ECB guidelines, adapting our venue to provide a cricket activity for small groups of young people. Watch our video to see how we responded to the pandemic to support young people and their families during lockdown.
Play Zone and Multi-Sports Coaching Holiday Camp for SEND Families
We provided free Easter activities for SEND families on the outfield of Arundel Castle Cricket Ground. Our activities included free multi-sports coaching and private, safe play zones for families. These activities were introduced to provide respite and relaxation for families with a child or young person with a learning or physical disability. Through our activities we hoped to provide families with a safe place in which to get active outdoors and enjoy valuable family time in a private countryside location.
