ACE at Arundel

Through our partnership with The ACE Programme we are working in collaboration to provide opportunities to communities where inequality exists.  The ACE Programme was launched by Surrey County Cricket Club in January 2020 in response to the decline of the black British professional players by 75%, and less than 1% of the recreational game.  The charity aims to ‘Support Diverse Talent from the Grassroots to the Elite’.

About the programme

Our initiative with the ACE Programme aims to create more opportunities for young people from inner cities.  Groups from ACE, who would not have the opportunity to play in picturesque countryside settings, join the ACCF team for a memorable day participating in cricket and fun.  During the visit we provide new experiences for young people to play on a first class cricket venue in the beautiful surroundings of Arundel Castle Cricket ground.

Working with ACE we aim to provide more opportunities to increase participation and enthuse young people to play cricket.

Key outcomes

“It is amazing for us to provide these opportunities to players and their families and to provide the young people on our programme, who come from inner cities, with new experiences that they wouldn’t have.”

Chevy Green, Director of Programmes, The ACE Programme
