It’s World Wellbeing Week and we are delighted to introduce another one of a range of programmes that we have been delivering over the last couple of months for local communities. ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ has seen us welcome the entire Year 6, 90 children, from White Meadows Primary Academy, Littlehampton, every Wednesday for three consecutive weeks of activities seeking to promote healthy lifestyles. This group of children, many of whom live in areas of high deprivation, have seen their mental and physical health suffer during the pandemic. All children participated in cricket, free play, bushcraft, healthy eating sessions, walks around the beautiful Arundel Castle Gardens, as well as yoga and mindfulness as part of Healthy Mind, Healthy Body sessions delivered by ex professional cricketer and ACCF consultant, Lewis Hatchett.

Wellbeing Wednesday has been warmly welcomed by White Meadows School with Alison Ferrier, the Assistant Headteacher who is working with ACCF to develop the programme, saying: “It has been a wonderful and uplifting opportunity to work with Tim and his team at ACCF for our Wellbeing Wednesday. The grounds at Arundel are a hidden beauty which offers so much to everyone. Having been part of Arundel – and cricket – from a young age, I am really excited and honoured to be leading this project for our year 6 pupils.”
Wellbeing Wednesday is one of several programmes that ACCF have delivered in 2021 as part of our Local Outreach Programme.
