The Arundel Castle Cricket Foundation (ACCF) is delighted to announce the appointment of Rob Mason as its new Chair. Having served as a Trustee since November 2023, Rob will now officially succeed David Kidd, having acted as interim Chair since David stood down in May. As was stated in a previous news article, we are hugely grateful to David for the passion, energy and drive which characterised his tenure, and are delighted that he will remain involved with the Foundation in a variety of ways in the years ahead.
Rob has led businesses in the sport and entertainment world for 35 years, and currently runs his own consultancy on a part-time basis. He’s on the board of The Boat Race Company, a governor of Brambletye School in West Sussex, and on the Committee of The Cricketer Cup whose final is currently played at Arundel.
Rob said: “It is a huge honour to be asked to become Chair of this wonderful charity, having been lucky enough to work alongside Tim Shutt and his team, and our superb board of Trustees, for the last few years. Thanks to their efforts, and the generosity of our donors, the charity is in excellent shape as we move through our 40th year, and I echo the thanks to David Kidd, above and below, for his time at the helm. I look forward very much to being part of things as we push towards our half-century, working closely with our colleagues at the Arundel Castle Cricket Club as we do so.”
Tim Shutt, Director of ACCF said: “I am delighted Rob has agreed to take on the role of Chair. Having known for Rob for nearly 3 years, I have been hugely impressed by his expertise and wisdom, as well as his passion for our Arundel home and the ACCF cause. Having had the opportunity to work with 2 other brilliant individuals in Peter Bristowe and David Kidd in my tenure here, I am very much looking forward to working more closely with Rob now that he assumes the role of Chair, as we seek to continually improve our offering and our operations, and to reach even more young people”.
