ACCF launch safe outdoor activities to support the wellbeing of local children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

We are opening up our grounds to local SEND families to provide fun outdoor activities to help increase physical activity and support mental wellbeing during lockdown.  Local families with a child or young person with a learning or physical disability can get active and enjoy the outdoors in one of our safe and zoned off play spaces on the outfield at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground, in a way that complies with the latest Covid-19 Government advice.

We know how important it is to be active for good physical and mental health and we understand that for many families with a child or young person with a disability, the lockdown can make them feel cut off and isolated.  Through our lockdown SEND activities we hope to provide families with a safe place in which to get active outdoors and enjoy valuable family time in a beautiful countryside setting.
There are two activities to choose from:

  • Play Zones – families can book a zoned-off, safe, private space to play as a family at our beautiful Arundel Castle Cricket ground. We  provide various sports equipment or families can bring their own and do whatever they choose within their own zone.
  • Multi-Sports –  families can book a place or a group on a coach led multi-sports activity session with a qualified and DBS checked coach at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground.  Activities are for small groups of up to 4 people – all abilities are welcome.  Equipment will not be shared, and 2m social distancing will be followed at all times.

Both activities are available to book from 10th February – 31st March 2021

Times available: Wednesdays and Sundays at 10-11am and 11.30-12.30pm

During February half term week (15th – 19th February) there will be additional sessions.

Times available during half term:  Monday – Friday at 10.30-12pm and 1-2.30pm

If you would like to book a place please email richard@arundelcastlecricket.co.uk
